apulSoft: apTrigga3 Sample Trigger Plug-In

apTrigga has been around since 2004 (and it was good back then!). In 2015, apulSoft released a full rewrite of their sample trigger plug-in that included AAX support, which I grabbed immediately and have used regularly since. I realized this plug-in has never been reviewed here, and I wanted to give it a shout-out. The interface is simple and fast, making it easy to throw together samples on the fly. For instance, if I have a dozen kick drum recordings on disk, it takes probably 90 seconds to load them, trim, add fadeouts, create a group that triggers in random order, then dial in triggering with filters using apTrigga3's simple GUI. The other trigger plug-ins I've tried feel excessively heavy, and designed for full-kit sample sets, which isn’t my thing. apTrigga3 has lots of deep features, but my usage is 100 percent throw-and-go when I need to do some simple augmenting or replacement, and even though I don't find that task fun, I do enjoy using apTrigga3 – one of my favorite plug-ins, and it's cheap!
